The everyday problem
Sometimes the task is on your Mac while you are holding your phone. Tetherly connects a mobile device to the Mac's existing desktop.
The product in practice
- A host and native clients
- The public repository separates the Mac host, Android client and iPhone/iPad client. Its architecture and setup guides are available to inspect.
- Pairing with approval
- The user opens pairing on the Mac, compares the short codes on both devices and approves the connection on the Mac.
- Two connection paths
- Nearby devices connect over Wi-Fi. Connections across networks use the user's own Tailscale setup.
Scope and boundaries
The host requires macOS 14 or later. Windows and Linux hosts are outside the current scope. Platform and feature verification varies; the repository records its current validation status and remaining review work.
