Solution guide · Proposed implementation. Workflows, contracts, examples and evaluation plans are illustrative proposals, not delivered customer systems, audited integrations or measured results.
A conversation may look active while the customer’s problem has no owner. Automation acknowledges it, one agent starts typing, another opens a duplicate ticket, and nothing resolves the underlying issue. The durable object should be a support case with ownership and next action.
This is a proposed new official WhatsApp Business Platform integration, not a business deployment of the unofficial personal-account MCP client or a delivered customer result.
Start with the case, then the channel
Define new, awaiting identity, assigned, awaiting customer, awaiting internal action and resolved states. Every state needs an owner or monitored queue. A bot reply does not resolve a case.
Meta’s service-message overview describes user-initiated support interactions. It establishes channel context, not this case architecture.
| Proposed event-to-case field | Synthetic value or purpose |
|---|---|
| Business account and event ID | Business-demo-a / incoming-demo-301 |
| Contact and case | Contact-demo-42 / case-demo-88 |
| Identity and consent reference | Unverified / consent-demo-16 |
| Team and next action | Orders / verify-order-access |
| Window expiry | Calculated under current platform rules |
| Version and state | Version 4 / awaiting identity checks |
A phone number is a communication endpoint, not proof of access to an order, account or document.
Process inbound events durably
Validate webhook authenticity using the official mechanism verified during implementation. Confirm business-account ownership, reject malformed inputs and bound sizes/attachments.
Persist before acknowledgment according to current platform requirements. Deduplicate provider event identities within account scope where supported. For other formats, document strategy and collision risk instead of treating content hashes as universal identity.
Workers attach evidence to cases and assign next actions. Restrict raw-event retention and maintain minimal operational projections. Event receipt establishes arrival, not customer identity or business-system authority.
Make identity proportional to disclosure
Opening hours may need no account lookup. Addresses, refunds and personal documents require appropriate checks and approved disclosure rules. Prefer authenticated links for sensitive work rather than secrets in chat.
Give response composition only necessary fields. An unverified caller can receive verification instructions without learning whether a sensitive record exists. Separate read access from refunds, contract changes and other actions; show exact consequences to the appropriate human approver before execution.
Coordinate automation and human ownership
A case-level coordinator binds drafts to case version and source records. Agent takeover invalidates or reopens queued automated drafts. New customer clarification must not leave an old draft ready indefinitely.
Handoffs need reason, queue, request/acceptance time and fallback owner. “Talk to a person” is incomplete if no staffed work results. Show agents verified facts, uncertainty and previous customer-facing statements.
The current Business Messaging Policy addresses opt-in, opt-out, approved initiation/templates outside the service window and clear escalation paths. Recheck eligibility at send time; policy/template status may change while a case stays open. Staff coverage is an organizational responsibility, not a channel guarantee.
A synthetic double response
A damaged-item enquiry arrives twice. The first event opens a case and queues a draft; an agent claims it while another worker sees the duplicate.
Deduplication maps observations to one inbound event. Claiming ownership increments case version; the older automated draft fails its send precondition. The agent reviews evidence and policy, but replacement promises still require organizational authorization. Record proposed resolution separately from notification.
An exclusive response coordinator reduces conflicts but may introduce queue delay. Expose that delay with a fallback owner rather than bypassing version checks to appear responsive.
Reconcile outbound messages separately
Every outbound attempt has durable intent, stable key and provider observations. Timeout after dispatch means unknown. Reconcile supported identifiers/receipts rather than blindly creating another send.
Acceptance, delivery and reading do not determine case resolution. Delivered requests for photographs leave the case awaiting input. If the service window expires, re-evaluate approved-template needs. Template rejection creates owned exception work, not an unauthorized channel switch.
Budget for operational engineering
Add CRM identity mapping, staff permissions, queues, template lifecycle and versioned knowledge. Operations needs views for failed events, unassigned cases, revoked access and incomplete handoffs.
When source systems fail, display freshness and withhold unsupported stock, refund or delivery promises. Treat customer text and attachments as untrusted: size limits, safe handling and appropriate scanning. Embedded instructions cannot grant new access or change operating policy.
Evaluate the whole support loop
Replay synthetic duplicates, expired windows, unclear identity and opt-out races. Have agents claim concurrently, interrupt handoff queues and inspect fallback routing. Test unknown sends by counting actual dispatch attempts, not only successful responses.
Measure ownership, misrouting, stale drafts blocked, queue aging and improper disclosure attempts. Check whether agents inspect evidence and override suggestions. Establish pilot gates before launch and report observations, not promised savings or invented resolution improvements.
Context, sources and next step
Datahase’s open-source overview and existing personal MCP connection guide provide reference context. The unofficial personal connector is distinct from an official business deployment. Business account setup, policy eligibility, technical adapters, identity, operational staffing and recovery require separate discovery and verification.
Sources checked 5 November 2026 are linked next to relevant statements. Pinned repository documentation describes that exact revision, not an independently completed code audit. Current platform endpoints, policy, categories and commercial terms must be rechecked for an actual implementation. No live messages, personal chats or business bookings were used to validate this design.
